Fortis Inc. is the largest investor-owned distribution utility in Canada, serving more than 2,000,000 gas and electricity customers. Its regulated holdings include a natural gas utility in British Columbia and electric utilities in 5 Canadian provinces and 2 Caribbean countries. Fortis owns non-regulated hydroelectric generation assets across Canada and upper New York State. It also owns hotels and commercial real estate in Canada.
 

FortisBC is an integrated energy solutions provider focused on providing natural gas, electricity, propane and alternative energy solutions to approximately 1,100,000 customers in more than 135 B.C. communities. In 2010 the Company met a peak day natural gas demand of 1,421 terajoules and a peak electricity demand of 707 megawatts ("MW").

FortisAlberta , a wholly owned subsidiary, is a distribution utility providing electricity in central and southern Alberta. The Company serves approximately 491,000 customers and met a peak demand of 2,555 MW in 2010.

Newfoundland Power, a wholly owned subsidiary, operates an integrated generation, transmission and distribution system in Newfoundland. The Company serves more than 243,000 customers in the province and met a peak demand of 1,206 MW in 2010.

Other Canadian operations include the wholly owned subsidiaries Maritime Electric and FortisOntario which serve approximately 138,000 customers on Prince Edward Island and in southeastern Ontario, respectively. The Companies met a combined peak demand of 480 MW in 2010.

Caribbean Utilities , an approximate 59 per cent owned subsidiary, generates, distributes, transmits and supplies electricity on Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. The Company serves more than 26,000 customers and met a record peak demand of 102 MW in 2010.

Fortis TCI generates and transmits electricity to 9,100 customers on the islands of Providenciales, North Caicos, Middle Caicos, South Caicos and Dellis Cay and met a combined record peak demand of 31 MW in 2010.

Fortis Generation includes the operations of non-regulated generating assets across Canada and in Belize and upper New York State. The generating capacity of these assets is 139 MW, 134 MW of which is hydroelectric generation.

Fortis Properties, a wholly owned non-utility subsidiary, owns and operates hotels in 8 provinces in Canada and commercial office and retail space primarily in Atlantic Canada. Its holdings include 22 hotels with more than 4,300 rooms and 2.7 million square feet of commercial real estate.
